![]() ![]() By making very small (1/8 turn or so) changes to the 2nd stage screw, adjust the 2nd stage engagement so that the it happens just prior to the sear breaking. Again, there will be no 2nd stage engagement, just a steady pull or "creep" until the gun fires.Ĥ) - Now turn the 2nd stage screw in 1/2 turn at a time until the 2nd stage can be felt to engage prior to the gun firing.ĥ) - Fine tune the 2nd stage. At this point, the gun fires without a stage 2 engagement with a long stage 1 pull.ģ) - Adjust the stage 1 screw in until the amount of first stage travel is to your liking. If it won't fire, turn the stage 1 screw in 1/2 turn at a time until the gun will fire when the trigger is pulled. If so, adjust the first stage screw in until the free travel just disappears.Ģ) - Test fire the gun. This may create trigger free travel, that is, the trigger may move with nearly no force until the stage 1 screw engages the sear. To set this, I do the following:ġ) - Back both screws out a long ways. On my sporters, I like quite a bit of sear engagement. ![]() Second stage screw - adjusts when the 2nd stage engages. The two screws have the following function:įirst stage screw - adjusts the total amount of sear engagement with the trigger completely relaxed. ![]() To make the trigger crisp, the 2nd stage must engage just prior to the sear breaking. The piston catch is not engaging the piston rod, you probably have no sear contact. ![]()
